ONE FRAMED WATERCOLOR PER ARTIST
Submit paintings created without the help of an instructor. They must be created from the artist’s original reference materials painted with aqua media on watercolor paper. Please note, the term watercolor shall be deemed to exclude encaustic or oil. Watercolor paintings may include other mediums (collage, pastel, pen & ink, etc.) as long as their use does not exceed 10% of the work. Please follow rules designated in our by-laws.
Content: No copies of published imagery permitted.
Note: Subject matter is not limited to the bicentennial theme…
Imagery must be suitable for public viewing in the Monroe County History Center, or it will not be exhibited.
Consent to photograph artworks for a catalog, publicity, or archive purposes is permitted by the artist.
MEMBERSHIP DUES MUST BE PAID FOR 2016
Frame with flat hangers. No saw tooth hooks or screw eyes permitted. Wires should be stretched tightly and attached approximately 1/3 down the vertical dimension. Neutral matting encouraged.
Glass or plexi glass is acceptable. Space is limited for this show, so please keep paintings to half sheet or less in image size.
Delivery: History Center Monday, Dec. 5th between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.. If you are unable to make delivery yourself, please make arrangements with a friend.
Pricing: There will be no commission taken from the sale of your work. Paintings do not need to be for sale. Artist information will be available for potential clients, and patrons will be directed to contact the artist directly for sales.
Display: Works must remain on display throughout the show period, and paintings will be available for buyers after take down on Tuesday, Feb. 21st. If a sale occurs, the artist will arrange for delivery of their work.
Reception: Friday, Dec. 9th, 5 to 7 p.m. in the Monroe County History Center.
Pick Up: Tuesday, Feb. 21st, 2-4 p.m. Please, once again, make arrangements with someone to collect your painting if you are unable to make the date.
Insurance: There is no insurance provided by the Monroe County History Museum or BWS for this show, so the artist is responsible for his/her own insurance. There is a release form that all artists must sign and return to the committee when delivering works, and these will be available for signing at check in.
Invitations: e-mail invitations will be available for your forwarding.
BIOS: If you wish to include your updated bio in the gallery book, please print and deliver it with your painting.
