Hospitality thanks (Betty Wagoner/Mary Walker)- Jan Britton brought fruit  & candy, Ann-Karine Bley brought spinach balls, Jane Watkins brought veggies, Ann Umpress brought brownies & Toni Richards brought gluten free brownies.
Minutes approval – No changes were submitted for the June minutes and they were approved without vote.
Treasurer’s report (Patty Uffman) – Credit Union $2,491.68, Pay Pal $240.86, & Petty Cash $311.40 with a total of $3,043.94
Nancy Metz made a brief presentation about BWS’ activities during her tenure as President & passed out the State of the Society Document.

Committee Reports
Scholarship (Jeanne Dutton) Awardee not present- Not discussed.
Programs (Jo Weddle out of town) Programs for the year are available and refrigerator cards were distributed. The information can be found on bloomingtonwatercolorsociety.org
Activities (Jeanne Dutton)
TC Steele Great American Art Contest-Winners- Anne-Karine Bley & Don Geyra received Honorable Mention in Oils, Tricia came in 1st place in Acrylics, Donna Whitsitt was awarded 3rd in Watercolor, Robin Edmundson  received Honorable mention in Watercolor, and Robin’s daughter Claire received Honorable mention in Teen Division.
Peden Farm Children’s Festival – 9/29-30 (Anne-Karine Bley) – Looking for volunteers to help at the booth or to paint. Dot cards will be passed out for the children & plein air painters are welcome but must pre-register. Talk to Jeanne or Anne-Karine.
Upland Painters Activities (Kristen Stamper)- Its been 1 year & 35 events have been planned. A show is in the works for April, 2017, at the Bellevue Gallery. All media are welcome. 30 slots are available and a signup sheet has gone around. Kitty Garlock talked about the upcoming season, which can be seen in more detail in the Brushstrokes newsletter/blog.
More activities: TC Steele and Yellowwood forest and Nature Conservancy are interested in offering more art infused activities and a relationship with BWS. More on this in the future.
Publicity (Susie Graham) –Nothing to report but Katelyn from the IU Daily Student (IDS), a student newspaper, was at the meeting, and may be back to report on the Bloomington Art scene.a
Shows (Tricia Wente/Anne-Karine Bley)­ Prospectus was distributed
Technology (Carol Rhodes) The website re-design is in the works and upland painters email has been added. There were some possible issues with AOL members having blocked emails but the BWS members haven’t noticed further problems.
Historian (Candi Bailey) No report/activity

New Business
Announcements
Watercolor Society of Indiana opening reception is at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at 2 pm on Oct. 9th.  Several members have artwork in the show.
Saturday, Oct. 1 – Historical Landmarks of Columbus at the Columbus Library is looking for plein air painters for their paint out and festival from 1:30 pm to 5 pm.
Joanne Shank is driving to Mitchell for Persimmon Festival Saturday September 17th and has offered to deliver art. There is a $5 entry fee.
Joanne Shank is also offering a possible shared studio if anyone is interested, please contact her.
